Find a Website's Hosting Company

There are a number of reasons why you may want to know where a website is "hosted." The most common reason is to file a Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) takedown request when a website infringes on your copyrights.

Our automated tool can determine the hosting company for most sites.

We've provided a free tool, below, that will find the hosting company for you (in most cases). Just enter the domain name of the site, and click the Submit button.

Note: if the hosting company is the same as the site name (for example, Facebook.com is hosted by Facebook), that means the site operates their own servers.

We also provide step-by-step instructions for filing a DMCA Takedown Request, along with links to the DMCA instructions for many major websites and hosting companies.

If the site and its hosting company are not listed in our links, you can look up the DMCA Agent contact information on the US Copyright Office website.
